Cable Technician$34(Monterey, CA)

Position Summary or Please send cover letter, resume, and references. Provides support for Cable Audit familiar with outside plant operations and some inside plant. Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid U.S. Government Public Trust security clearance and a state driver’s license in order to be retained in the position. Duties and Responsibilities •Perform inspections on man/hand-holes pedestals and building entrance terminals audits and document findings. •Provide cable/fiber staking and marking services on the base infrastructure. •Verify correct location of BTS infrastructure using Global Positioning System (GPS). •Be familiar with identifying cable count and testing for active data lines. •Experience with Global Positioning System (GPS) Communications Education and Experience •One year of related experience. Skills and Certifications •Data Feature (CFD) information collection preferred. •Experience in ISP/OSP fiber and copper testing. •Knowledge and experience with analogue and digital telecommunications switches and equipment. •Basic Computer skills. •Demonstrates communication skills; verbal and written in •English with a strong customer focus. •Able to perform CPR and safety observer duties if necessary. •Physical Requirements: •May require lifting more than 50lbs. •Position requires sitting standing kneeling and bending for long periods of time.
